   Here is my transcription of the article in German about Nicholas Rogers (Pop Rocky).

   "Geheimnisvolle blaue Augen, eine lange dunkelbraune Mähne, errol Flynn-Bartchen und eine Ausstrahlung, die einen einfach umhaut. Der Australier Nicholas Rogers ist das, was man als einen “ganzen Mann” bezeichnen würde . Kein Wunder, dass sich Nicholas mit seinem Gardemaß von 1,90 Meter früher mit Modeljobs nach oben katapultiert hat. Geboren wurde er als zweiter Sohn von Eve und Ken Rodgers am 6 Marz 1969 in Sydney/Australien. In Whale Beach (nahe bei Sydney) wuchs er gemeinsam mit seinen Brüdern Steve (29) und Tim (13) in einem tollen Strandhaus auf.  „Nach einer wilden Schulzeit bin ich dann in dasselbe Business wie mein Vater eingestiegen – die Modebranche.  Die US-Firma, für die ich am Anfang arbeitete, hat mich dann mit 20 Jahren gleich in die Zentrale nach New York geholt. Das war für mich sehr früh und überraschend, aber ich denke, dadurch bin ich auch viel selbständiger geworden”, blickt der jetzt 28-jährige Nicholas zurück.  „In Amerika angekommen, war mir sofort klar: Der Job in der Modebranche ist nichts für mich. Nach einem Urlaub in Spanien bin ich dann auch gar nicht mehr in die Staaten zurückgekehrt, sondern  habe beschlossen, ins Modelgeschäft einzusteigen. Über  eine Agentur in London bekam ich dann auch sehr schnell tolle Jobs. Vor allem in der Jeanswerbung war ich oft zusehen.”

Den internationalen Durchbruch schaffte Nicholas aber mit der Schauspielerei, 1994 drehte er mit dem italienischen Regisseur Lamberto Bava die erste Folge des traumhaft schönen Märchens „Prinzessin Fantaghiro”. Die Rolle des Zauberers  Tarabas ist ihm dabei wie auf den Leib geschrieben. “Beim Casting wollte man von mir wissen, ob ich denn reiten könne. „Klar!“, log ich, „kein Problem!“ Zwei Tage später saß  ich schon auf einem riesigen schwarzen Pferd und musste loslegen. Zum Glück ist aber alles gut gegangen. Noch bis 8 Februar ist “Magic Nick” jeden Sonntag auf SAT1 bewundern. Und wenn Ihr dann immer noch nicht genug von dem tollen Australier habt: die nächste Serie mit Nicholas, “Laura non c’e” (dt: „Laura gibt es nicht”) ist schon abgedreht und wird voraussichtlich Weihnachten 1998 gezeigt.”

The importance of being honest -- an extract from a Russian film

  This is a little piece from a Russian film 'A Literature Lesson' (1968), based on Victoria Tokareva's story ("A day without lying"), the script is hers as well. Here's a page http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063752/.
   It's about a young graduate (educated as a journalist) working at school. There are a lot of interesting ideas. But the main one jumps to this: telling the truth (importantly -- to oneself), being honest. This is a final monologue of the main character.    That is a quote from the film that comes at the end, showing the main character's speculations.
   ''Now the day is over. I've lived it the way I wanted to: I wasn't afraid of anyone, I told what I think both to myself and the others. And what will be tomorrow? For if I want to live the way I lived yesterday I will not be able to do it, and, in fact, I do not want to.
Maybe the transition period is the period when you stop asking questions to the people around you and start asking them to yourself. This period can come at the age of fifteen, and at twenty five, and at forty. Or it may never come.
   What have I lost? Everything. What have I gained? Everything.''
   How it's really important to be honest with oneself and allow transition period (asking questions) to move on.

Something to write about

Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie. I'd like to describe some impressions I have of their work.
What do I usually write about? Some major principles are as follows:
1) I write mainly about what's really interesting to me or moves me. Or delights me. Or what I consider worthy of attention, valuable or interesting. Frankly and sincerely.
2) I try to put in in an interesting and readable way, do some quality writing, so to speak.
Sometimes I wait for the appropriate mood and the appropriate amount of time. The mood is very important. If I am tired I can't write long and finely worked out texts.
So again a post which is not very interesting.

On communication (an uninteresting post)

I hope I'm not being overly intrusive.
I sometimes really am, when I am open and active in talking. People could get a bit tired.
I can never understand something -- of course, I understand it, but, on the other hand, I don't. It's wnen people politely listen to you, they do not tell you to stop or that they're tired of you. I know that if they really tell this to you you feel even more offended and hurt. (There were times when I asked the people to tell me forthright -- these were quite painful moments, later, however, they worked out for the better. There were other moments, too, when people had not informed me of what they did not like, when I realize, I said 'Why didn't you let me know?')
But if looked at from a different angle, you are kept in the dark this way -- you do not know whether you are welcome or not. You can guess in real life communication, in online communication you can't know the reaction at all.
I'll add one more thing here now. In reference to online contacts in particular, I think one should express express his attitudes, because if not shown how can it be guessed?

Apri, 27 was the day of Easter this year (in the Orthodox Church calendar). Christ is risen, giving us life.
Jesus is the hope of our everything. The hope of change for the better, the faith in God's care and love to heal the situation, to help us, often in spite our weaknesses. Whenever there's a problem, in faith is our life in hope.
Whenever I can see a touch of good change in a person -- this is the gift of God, and the good, inwardly right turn to the best, most beatiful sources of one's soul.
The life of a Christian is inner life, good change, sensed from the inside.
I want to say that Christian faith is not only in the statement of our beliefs (the Creed), but also in real life, in our hearts, in our joys, often where there's a penitent desire for a change and hope for the better in trust.
P.S. I think I'm a bit unclear here in expressing the idea. Sorry.
